Eco Ridge Farm located in 16Km radius from Bentota beach and easy access from Bentota tourist town as well as from Colombo through Southern Highway. 22 acres of this private property in a mountain site behind the Bentota Estate’s Athukorala-kandda division government own plantation with the history through to British Colonization period. Colonization period’s buildings, natural rubber processing facilities, transportation canal and jetty are the historical significances around. Over and above one side of the farm attached to a government’s forest reservation with home to Sri Lanka’s native wild animals. Peacocks, birds, wild boars, Porcupine (Big hedgehogs) are the regular visitors to the farm.
Our History
This property was originally a part of the rubber plantations owned by the British during the colonization period. We bought the estate in year 2000 from a local farmer as neglected condition and replanted rubber to optimize the income. However, with the declined demand for natural rubber, we couldn’t meet our targets and just the time elapsed with not much production. In year 2024, we have changed the direction towards to multi crop fruit farming and Agro tourism.
What we do
We grow fruit crops suit for Sri Lanka’s wet zone together with Mahogani timber farming to some extent and Agro tourism with the advantage of being close to Bentota tourist zone.
Our view is to create a place where our guests from all around the world could take unique experience, while we optimise our income from the farming products.
This farm located in a hill site where you could enjoy undisturbed views of rural Sri Lanka and its rainforests and natural wildlife encounters. Swimming in natural rock pool. Guests could engage with farming activities for fun too. Hiking tracks through 100’s of acres in government plantation sites and rainforest, which is unlimited.
The best area of the Bentota beach can be accessed via boats through Bentota river and colonized period’s transportation canal from the farm, we hope this could be an enjoyable boat ride to experience pre-1948’s British Ceylon and one of Sri Lankas most popular tourist beach. And in addition to that Bentota beach is in a short and scenic rural drive.
Yagirala Rainforest and natural bathing pool is only 20min away from the Farm.
